Leandro was born in 1984 in Ventas del Carrizal, a hamlet of Castillo de Locubín, in the Sierra de Jaén, Andalusia. He lived there until, still a teenager, he moved first to Granada and later to Seville, where he studied fashion design.

In 2012, he created his eponymous brand and began his journey in the national and international fashion circuit. With his first collection, Leandro was awarded at MBFW Madrid, and that same year, he was chosen from 360 applicants as the winner of the "Designer of Tomorrow" award, an accolade that gave him the opportunity to create the Ánima collection alongside designer Marc Jacobs, presented during MBFW Berlin.

In subsequent years, Leandro received other prestigious awards such as the first prize in the Samsung Innovation Project in 2014 or the Vogue Who's On Next award in 2017 in this same year Leandro Cano represented Spain in the Woolmark Award in Milan with his production collection in Australian merino wool made by an artisan weaver in a family mill in Ezcaray (La Rioja).

In 2019, he presented his artistic collection for the first-time during Paris Fashion Week. A collection in which he wanted to show his deep connection with the artisanal values of his country, collaborating with 8 Spanish artisans to create the 8 pieces that made up the show and Leandro Cano is again selected for the Woolmark International Prize to present his project in Hong Kong.

A year later, in 2020, he returned to the French capital to present his collection inspired by Spanish folklore, composed of a series of dresses once again made with artisanal techniques. In 2022, he celebrated the 10th anniversary of his brand in Jaén, his hometown, with a grand runway show and gala at the Santa Catalina castle surrounded by friends of the brand.

In recent years, his collaborations with the world of culture and entertainment stand out. He has been responsible for designing costumes for the play 'Los Cuerpos Perdidos,' the music video 'Merichane' by Spanish singer Zahara, or for the tours of flamenco dancer Rafaela Carrasco and singer María José Llergo. The designer from Jaén has dressed international stars such as Lady Gaga or Katy Perry, and his pieces have been exhibited at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Frankfurt alongside creations by fashion legends like Alexander McQueen or Martin Margiela.

Leandro Cano returned to Madrid to present his Autumn/Winter 2024-2025 collection 'MENÚ' alongside his haute couture line in an immersive show held on November 7th in an emblematic parking lot in the center of Madrid, the capital of Spain.

The inspiration behind 'MENU' lies in a return to Cano's roots, revisiting his first "buffet" collection through the lens of experience, celebrating his evolution over the years.
