COVID-19 seems to have sharpened consumers’ focus on value. Consumer behaviors, as a result, have started to shift. This is particularly apparent in Millennials and Gen-Zs, who are now shopping smarter and evaluating measures to reuse items and limit waste. 

Over the past two years, Amman has seen a spike in the rise of thrift and reselling accounts on social media platforms, de-stigmatizing notions of second-hand shopping. FTA spoke to Diana AlDaoud from Fashion House Amman – Amman’s one and only luxury consignment boutique, which offers pre-used and authenticated women’s designer clothing and handbags – as well as the ladies behind Thrift It, an online vintage store established in 2019 that aims to promote the culture of collective second-hand shopping in Amman.
