Strategic Development Committee
With a constant aspiration to grow and improve, Fashion Trust Arabia formed a new Strategic Development Committee featuring a seven-strong list of exciting and established voices in the fashion industry, all experienced in their fields of business. The role of the Strategic Development Committee members will be to support FTA with brainstorming, strategy-building, bringing in new partnership opportunities, collaborations and sponsorships.
The new committee features Miu Miu Public Relations Manager Alissa Kobeissi, Founder & Managing Director of Bureau Des Createurs Christian Daccache, Cofounder and CEO of Maison de Mode Hassan Pierre, Talent Agent & Founder of Strive Ventures, James Gartshore Boulter, Digital Entrepreneur Karen Wazen, Luxury Brand Strategist Mohieb Dahabieh, and Business Development Director at Elite World Nuno Lago. Members will offer a pool of knowledge and contacts to FTA’s mission of supporting, highlighting and nurturing designers in an effort to lead fashion in the MENA region towards a more positive future.
Public Relations Manager – Miu Miu
Born in Brazil to a Lebanese-Italian family, Alissa has worked within the luxury fashion industry for over 15 years. A Central Saint Martins graduate, Alissa has worked in communications for luxury brands such as Christian Louboutin, and Prada and is currently holds the position as PR Manager for Miu Miu in London, overseeing both the UK and Scandinavian markets. Most recently she co-founded the charity initiative – ‘Creatives for Lebanon’ with industry peers working alongside Sotheby’s, Farfetch and Beirut Restore to raise funds for the country after the tragic 2019 blast.
The importance of FTA for me goes beyond the work within the region. It makes a mark in what has been typically a very Eurocentric, Western industry and brings in the vast talent and expertise we have. I really believe it is our moment, and being part of the committee allows me to be part of this journey and help build further on the hugely important work all of the trust has done. There is power numbers and our hugely eclectic diaspora individually, when brought together, can create huge impact as FTA has impressively shown. I am excited to bring in my expertise and support the team!
Founder & Managing Director – Bureau Des Créateurs
Christian Daccache has extensive experience in the fashion and luxury industry. I’m honored to be part of this journey, as a member of FTA’s Strategic Development Committee, providing our services and support, hand in hand with FTA’s Co-Chairs, and incredible team, to shine the spotlight on our designers regionally and globally.

In just five years, Karen has amassed a global audience of over 12 million, appeared on the covers of major magazines worldwide, and has become the first Middle Eastern woman to front a global campaign for Roberto Cavalli Fragrance. In parallel, Karen has grown her business, Karen Wazen Eyewear, into an international brand, worn by the likes of Kourtney Kardashian and Demi Lovato. She has achieved all this while raising three young children – redefining the concept of ‘working-mom.’ A huge part of Karen’s success is her genuine authenticity, allowing her followers to gain an intimate understanding of her life as a mother, businesswoman, and fashion guru. Most importantly, she uses her platform to highlight humanitarian issues on behalf of the UNHCR as one of their High Profile Supporters. Now, her latest venture into the tech world sees her launch the UAE’s first influencer game app: Karen Wazen My World. Her loyal digital community have helped the game soar to number one spot in major MENA countries (App Store), such as the UAE, Egypt, and Bahrain. Karen’s undeniable relatability, despite her global achievements, has seen her take the stage at Harvard University, guest lecturing students on digital entrepreneurship. Her continued success as a female founder, led Entrepreneur Magazine to name her ‘Influencer of the Year’ (2019) and Cosmopolitan to award her ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ (2019). The year 2020 also saw her gain a spot on Forbes’ list of ‘Women Behind Middle Eastern Brands’. Despite all her accolades, Karen protects her ‘family first’ mentality, spending her days in Dubai enjoying quality time with her husband and children.
I’m honored to be a member of FTA’s strategic development committee.
