The importance of FTA for me goes beyond the work within the region. It makes a mark in what has been typically a very Eurocentric, Western industry and brings in the vast talent and expertise we have. I really believe it is our moment, and being part of the committee allows me to be part of this journey and help build further on the hugely important work all of the trust has done. There is power numbers and our hugely eclectic diaspora individually, when brought together, can create huge impact as FTA has impressively shown. I am excited to bring in my expertise and support the team!

Her continued success as a female founder, led Entrepreneur Magazine to name her ‘Influencer of the Year’ (2019) and Cosmopolitan to award her ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ (2019). The year 2020 also saw her gain a spot on Forbes’ list of ‘Women Behind Middle Eastern Brands’. Despite all her accolades, Karen protects her ‘family first’ mentality, spending her days in Dubai enjoying quality time with her husband and children.
