With the holiday season upon us, one can’t help but think of what to wear, for it’s the season to celebrate, and boy do we know that we are in dire need of some celebration. Last year, we rang the New Year bells indoors, with the world locked down, as the darkness of COVID crept up on us. With the vaccine roll out proving to be somewhat successful, this year we’re hitting the town all glam and dressed up for a night to remember.

If you’re still looking for the perfect outfit or accessory to style yourself in for this NYE, look no further. Pulse asked four stylish Arab women what was on their wishlist this year!

INES AKTOUF | ALGERIA

“My selection for NYE is a dress from Miscreants, it’s a niche brand from London that I have on my wishlist for the occasion. I’m choosing it because it’s bold and chic. Also, since it’s a niche brand, that makes me feel unique. I love the puffy detail on the gloves, it gives the dress a contemporary and feminine touch. I chose black as a reference to the classic Little Black Dress which makes it very elegant with a twist. I’d style it with a big colorful ring on the glove and platform sandals – the Versace Aevitas ones for example – in black, to give it a sense of boldness.”

LATIFA BINT SAAD | SAUDI ARABIA

“NYE for me is a time for celebration, it is about stating your intentions for the coming year. With that said, I believe 2022 will be a year of light and celebration for me and I wanted to showcase that through my outfit. This is why I’m choosing the heart-plexi dress from Trending Topic. I would style it with a satin heel from Amina Muaddi and beauty graphic liner from Simi & Haze beauty.”

MAHA HAIDER | PALESTINE

“Usually I don’t need an excuse to wear whatever party attire my heart desires, but still, NYE looks are special and fun to choose. I don’t tend to have one style, my taste changes based on what is going on my life or the trends I see around me. Nowadays I am all about a flirty romantic mood. I chose the ‘Crystal Flower Appliqué Tailored Mini Dress’ in yellow by David Koma and am styling it with the pointed Dassy heels from Andrea Wazen in PVC and black. I like to go beyond the Little Black Dress, so there’s nothing I love more than a daring color on a tailored silhouette to make a statement. Plus, I am always in for a sophisticated flower to give a bold touch (very Carrie Bradshaw).”

TAIBA AL-NASSAR | KUWAIT

“I treated myself to these Ottolinger earrings for the holidays. I always love a bit of dark gothic glamour, and think they have just the right amount of sparkle for my NYE look.”
