Reemami’s “A Tin of Olive Oil”

Palestinian, Sharjah based ready-to-wear label Reemami has released their new collection, titled “A Tin of Olive Oil,” which is a nod to founder Reema Albanna’s Palestinian-Emirati heritage. As a third culture kid, Albanna explores her identity and childhood memories by weaving traditional patterns into experimental textile prints that highlight Levantine embroidery motifs and hand illustrations. From the navy blue cropped top with spiral denim white thread to the asymmetrical skirt, patched with leftover pieces of Palestinian embroidery created by refugee women in Lebanon, to the slender pink slip dress which features hand illustrated prints with elongated black bows, strap details and a high front slit, this collection has something for everyone.
